yesterday afternoon Jade SOS me , her GPS sent her to Holland .
Pax luan kan , asked for discount , she die die dun give , now Jade garang liao .
Cos West Coast Park very big , her GPS sent her to the beginning of West Coast Park , she also dunno there was a Mcdonald at West Coast Park , then after consulting her Old Sis , then she brought them to Mcdonald correct spot .
Pax ask for discount cos pax expecting her to know , instead of going in and out trying to find the Mcdonald .
Jade garang dun give means dun give .
She dun spoilt market .
The morale of the story ?Don't rely on GPS , rely on "asking" would be a better option .
GPS can always sent you to holland .
At the end of this story , it's still human being that lead Jade to the correct spot .

Actually cannot fully blame her for the mistake.Pax should said West Coast Park Mac.This morning pick pax from sengkang to West Coast Park, i asked pax for portal code and key into the gps,gps swee swee bo chao chwee, bring me to the private estate opposite Faber Hill.(divided by AYE) if i'm not wrong jade end out the place i went the morning.
I thing i found out out is when using GPS, best is to have portal code or blk no: and street name. Don't just keyin street name only.

human GPS still the best~~~~ dun over rely on GPS cause sometimes
not so accurate n also u dun learn as fast as when theres someone to guide u

ask them to tell u how long they need to learn, how much sacastic remarks they got from their pax cos they dunno they way. They many unneccesay mistake they made to learn. Is it really necessay?
From my using this GPS for 3 months, the feeling is like someone like Poolman transfering all his "Chi" or skill into me in one single breath. A GPS is as good a 10 years those old bird need to knock and burn on the road to get it.
I dun have to depend on my pax's mood to guide me.
Contra to what u say Poolman, the GPS shows me so many routes that I can take to a certain destination. This is something that I need a long time to learn as I am driving alone and dun have a senior next to me to teach me that. The next time, I know that route, so I dun need to use it anymore.
Taking calls, be it advance or current or even street job is a breeze. U be surprised lots of ppl knows their postal code, even Ang mohs. Just enter code and go.
Feedback from my pax:
A)They should make every taxi have this thing. Most taxi driver doesn't know where we stay and we got to tell them each and everything.
B) I been here at least 5 times and most taxi driver got problem in getting here.
C) from one ang moh in a jest: Hey, u cheating! like that everyone including me can be taxi driver. Just follow the instruction and go.
GPS not only show me how to get there, usually yr pax can help direct u there but what happen after they alight? u got lost in their area, especially those small roads in landed property. GPS leads me out anytime.
The "FUEL" icon is especially useful for me. It doesn't show me where to pump diesel. Wherever I am, if I need to go to "pee", I just activate that icon and it will bring me to my nearest "toilet".
I used my "DIESEL" icon to show me where is the nearest of our 17 diesel kiosk that I can pump, wherever I am.
I used the "CASH" icon to bring me to the nearest atm if my pax needs with withdrawn money.
Of course I know my brain should be the best GPS, but until then, I not trading my Garmin for anything else.
Anyway, at 55, how many years I have to live? Why taxed my brain so much? So what if I will use my GPS for the rest on my life? I rather spend the time to learn something else.
Know something? It's equvalent to like ppl still prefer to do mental calculation even tho they got a calculator in hand.
If now I am in my 30s, maybe still make some sense.

btw, from what I understand, some people dun dare to take calls just in case they doesn't know how to get to the place. anyone got similar experience?

i learned my routes thru the hard way looking at street directory n asking
pax to guide me so now for me most places not a prob n i find its a better
learning process. got call juz take lor esp midnite dun knoe where hantam later
last time i drive wish also like that juz call members n ask

It's up to the newbies to decide whichever way they want to learn. Whichever way they are comfortable with.
as for me, Give me my Garmin.

I use iphone good enough. Must at least know the basic route. The rest can ask.

Agree with Cash Lee.
Portal Code unlikely to go wrong. 6 digits only. Unlike some road, might not know how to spell correctly or pax said wrongly.

i always passby that Macdonald but dunno that is west coast park. i have not been to west coast park in my life, believe? i told the pax i can bring them to west coast park but they have to led me to where they want to go, pax wife bring me to holland. Is big sister led me to the correct place. If the passenger is nice in the begining i will give discount without them asking. He order me to give discount and threaten to complain company that why i dont give. Anyway, only $0.80. Hahahah. i throw inside sea also don't give him...hahaa
