No, I want an opposition party capable of forming a shadow cabinet and ready to take over when the need arises.
The political field must be fair to all parties.
Election department must be under President and not under PMO.
If Opposition win the GRC/SMC, they are also the grassroot leader/adviser. If not, dismantle PA, CC, RC...This shadow cabinet thing shows you should understand political system is not even analogous to bus/mrt routes where 2 independent companies can compete even though it is totally costly. If there is any usefulness of having a shadow cabinet, then the mgt of that country is very simple founded on defence, justice, social issues and welfare only. That is the reason why western countries like UK are foolishly having it where there is no benefit except additional cost to tax payers. These are countries in trouble accumulated over the years. Managing Sg is far more complicated than just defence, justice, social issues and welfare and no body from outside those institutions can offer feasible solutions easily. This is the reason why they always want small govt so that commerce takes over everything and cheat on the citizens.

I am certainly not Paxonboard3173. I do not have to hide behind people. My name is already my true name - why so scared? I am someone who is very connected with the problems of EU/US/Japan etc in real time and that is why I am telling you it is not so simple. Having a shadow cabinet has no better benefits than oppo voice in parliament except extra cost that I as a middle incomers are fed up of paying. The top 0.5% no need to pay if they want to because they have options to move their money around than ordinary middle incomers. Middle incomers are the main bearer of taxes. The bottom 30% don't pay tax except gst. I am -

Never Put All Your Eggs in One Basket.Correct for other cirstances but not for govt because civil service and stat boards cannot be managed by 2 different party bosses. When only one can then of course give to the able and experienced. There is no point having shadow cabinet because they are just as clueless as me and so whatever they put up it can only be from Dr Google and hear says - their solutions will never be optimised feasible because they do not have real information. That is why shadow cabinet is no better than alternate voice other than incurring more costs.

Here we are going talking about how much trust we can have on them and we do follow their thoughts as they unfold. Prof Lim Chong Yah spoke and now Prof Tommy Koh also spoke. I already detected some concern with their suggestions even though they have good brains but do not have the relevant internal info. I have been keen observer whereever I am and that is why I understand better. They are in social science academia and diplomacy, no experience in managing a complex operations before.

dun be naive to believe that the govt and mps are employee. they act more like ceo instead. judging from the behaviour of the govt, if the electorates want them to make rectification, the only tool to use is the vote in our hands.

- Currently PAP has no real competitor. PAP has 81 MPs. WP has only 5 MPs and 2 NCMPs, excluding the Hougang MP.
