Last single constituency by election was held 1981 .
The Anson by-election, 1981, was held in Singapore on 31 October 1981 to choose a representative for the consitituency of Anson in Parliament. The by-election was won by the leader of the Workers' Party, J.B. Jeyaretnam, who defeated the candidate of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), Pang Kim Hin. The by-election marked the first occasion since Singapore's independence in which a PAP candidate was defeated in an election for a seat in Parliament.
Some not even born yet .
But i can predict as usual , a super slow start for Saturday . And some late burst on Sunday morning .
After election result announced .
Still obk , not only taxis .
Restaurants , mall , cinemas , food court , supermarkets , Casinos , even buses and mrt will not be pack .
Now Singaporeans are more concern about politics .

I personally never kena by election before , so it will be my first taste of driving a cab on by election day .

think won't affect much cos only about 23K+ voters. and most people got smartphone, tablet, dun have to stay home to watch results.

My opinion : although only 23k+ votes , but at least 3/4 of the 3.5m Pure Singaporeans will be very concern of the results .Maybe cabbies can rely on the rest of the 1.58m half-Singaporeans to take your cab .

Have faith in Chen . He can make it one . I am not saying he be running for Hougang , i am saying he will make it for Worker's Party as a whole . At least we see hope in Singapore , with some opposition in Singapore . Singapore cannot be 100% White , we will be very difficult .

what i meant is you dun have to stay home to watch the live telecast. and the results is in fact out even before the polling starts. even hammerhammer bet with his brother on wp!

If one fine day, economics bad here. step 1: Foreigners deport themselves. step 2: More foreigners deport themselves. step 3: Condos will be empty and property price drop drastically. step 4: More empty condos spread all over sg, nobody buys and more become haunted. LTK and CSM both believe in FTs lah! They only help .to voice your concern ony lah - just being business like. However, ok , if they remove FTs, what happen? Can you tell me what percentage of your business are from FTs? So your profit drop. Too many taxis!
OK no need so many taxis - may be can try hawking. FTs leave, no need so many hawkers too. Satay club business will drop because FTs gone and too many unemployed and so cannot eat out. CSM gives handouts but a matter years make state money empty and borrow monies to give handouts. Then spore become Greece - no body want to lend to countries who cannot pay back. Welcome to the 70s - kopi tiam with no jobs, large unemployed graduates ..... This is your future - please think what will actually happen. It is not so easy get rid of FTs means jobs go to sporeans because decision is the employers not you or LTK and CSM. If you have SME bosses, check how many are FTs. Most employers love FTs and FWs - opposition bosses also do not dislike FTs - only in words they object or they are diplomatic.
