Actually tell you all the truth . .
They are there to catch those PA Buses and PH buses , solicitating for business .
Say it's catch cabbies , soon pian catch nia , actually not targetting at cabbies .

Almost a few weekends ago , midnight i went to Night Safari Pick And Go , my group of tourist paxes complaint to me those PA Buses charge them $50 per trip into town .
Cos they have 3 adults and 2 children under 4 years old and an infant .
I dun see why i cannot take ?
I took them .

These PA bus drivers actually standing outside the lobby , solicitate for business .
It is illegal to do so .
I think LTA are aware of that .
And taking actions now .
I think PA buses are not allowed to pick up such businesses at Night Safari .

beside check log book also make sure TDVL is displayed. if not there goes 100 bye bye

When I was there, they also asked me why i am wearing slipper, I told them i got HK foot, doctor said cannot wear shoe..then they quickly walk away

That reminds me. One of my lecturer when I was in Australia. He wears Bermuda, Short Sleeves, Shirt with a Tie. At first want to laugh, then realised it is Norm for them. -

In india and some africa countries, still using bedford or old morris cab, knn, rear and side mirrors also do not hve, the traffic is hell there.
In thailand, altis CNG, knn, if got 2 big baggages, you can forget about it, their maxi all waiting. Back boot so small, yet with CNG tank.

In New York and most major US cities, taxis come with bullet proof glass, shielding the pax at the rear and the driver. No front seat pax, unless if driver allows. (or maybe they got seating rules only for rear)
Anyway, logbook is only $30 fine and that also if you leave many days unaccounted for. But if you got log in MDT, usually they will waive.
Anyway all this every common one, just ask the old timers, everytime, there is a demand of taxis by hirers, and/or some complaints by pax, LTA will be super on the ball.
When there are lots of empty cabs parked in variosu depots, LTA disappear liao. Their thinking someone once told (from there department) - taxi driving is a very lucrative business, therefore they need to enforce their rules. Only during SARS, 1997-8, 2008 market crashes, then it becomes un-lucrative, and LTA will relax.
Still who cares, I still drive with slippers, only when driving Azera, I am forced into wearing shoes. (but without socks, of course!)

LTA say cannot... coz ALEX not in the NRIC...
