Break with coursemates for supper after driving.
One of them claim he can do $200 in 2 hrs during city peak at shenton way.
MDT keeping ringing non stop and his pick up and drop off is around CBD area.
Me hear already -_- one ear in and the other ear faster come out.
Maybe his taxi meter more special. Every 40m Jump 22cents after 1km 35m jump 22cents. Wait time 4.5 sec nia or maybe my maths fail big time.

Mathematically this can be done. Let me explain further.
Breakdown of peak period taxi fare:
1) Booking: $3.30
2) Flagdown: $3.20 x 1.25 = $4.00
3) CBD Surcharge: $3.00
Total: $10.30
Assuming TD takes approximately:
1) 4 mins per trip inside CBD
2) 30 secs to collect fare and select next booking
3) 1 min to arrive at booking destination
4) 30 secs to verfiy pax and start the meter.
Total : 6 mins per trip or 20 trips in 2 hours
20 trips x $10.30 = $206.00
This fare calculation excludes the extra fare collected beyond 1 KM which in this case we assume is neligible.

No wonder PTC is recommending more taxis on the road.... if the forums keep coming out such revenue taxi drivers can earn within 2 hours.
At the end of the day, who suffers ? the existing TDs like you....

Mathematically 2 hours make $1500 also possible, why not? let me calculate for you.
1) Flagdown: $3.20 x 1.25 = $4.00
3) CBD Surcharge: $3.00
Total: $7
The passengers at taxi stand, go in, the taxi haven't come out of taxi stand, the passenger says I want to alight here, then another passenger go in... at the rate of 1 passenger $7 every 30 seconds = $14/min = $1680. It exceeds the $1500 I mentioned that's mathematically possible. This is the answer by a high IQ person.
But realistic or not??? This is the answer by a high EQ person.

You tell yr friend, i give him 2 hours in CBD area (he can choose the time), if he can show me how he did it, i give him another $200. KNN, u take call no need time to drive there and what about the other travelling time.
If he show a knife after every trip i will believe. Your friend show not be driving Taxi, he should just tell story at coffeeshop and maybe he could earn more.

knn i waited at CBD for 15 mins not even a dog pass by!then at last one passenger to MBS ,fare $4.50,no peak and no cbd!then stuck at MBS hotel for 15 mins,one passenger to fairmont hotel fare $4.80,liked that can earn $200 in 2 hours?

Most TD got full of egos and prides, that is why most end up unable to work for others, or do not like to work under someone and having to face the same face everyday, it is ok to have pride and ego, therefore, you tends to see not only tua pow sian, but also some N korea Missiles
, just take it and leave with it, there is nothing much left in taxi driving trade, except TCSS and tua pows all the way.You talk about driving, all got driving licence, you talk about TVL, 3 months obtained already, you talk about routes...6 months mastered already, you talk about patterns of driving, maybe 3months, you get the pattern, all in all, after 1 years of driving, what is left are tua pow and TCSS.
On the other hand, no Tua pows around also very boring, at least can listen and laugh over it.
