Really, if we don't hear from the horses mouth then it's rumours.
I got agitated when those 'truths' on tds being treated unfairly by their own companies and can get impulsive wanting to throw keys.
Anyway, there was a time when my good buddy tells me 'confirmed', cdg ordered 5000 camrys because his uncle works for Toyota and I believed him. Till today not even a smell of 3 camrys.
Way before he told me his Toyota uncle also confirm cdg ordered automatic crowns. Phui 3 years later still no smell.
There goes for hearsay. Try not to believe in hearsays anymore but at times still cannot control the impulse inside.
Hah! I got a new rumour last week. When I was at Toh Tuck cng pumps, met a td who said he's changing his wish for a new epica because he stays in SengKang and cannot afford the long trips (3 times a day) to Toh Tuck for cng.
He said Jasmine asked him ......what if.....convert his wish(2.0l) to petrol and charged only $65 rental.
So what do you guys think of this rumour. If it's possible will you change your cng to petrol.
I was just thinking it might be possible to do it if wish can also be converted to take 5 or 6 passengers with a surcharge. Think of 2000plus taxis on the road able to carry more than 4 passengers. Transcab call centre will be hot.
Please input your thoughts......
Another one, just heard today. Cdg will not let out taxis from now on to OMOs because LTA has requested that all taxis have 2 drivers at least.
Just very recently i also heard rumours that SMRT odering 300 units BMW 523i Diesel to replace their aging Mercedes E220 CDI.. but how true is it, i myself don't believe.

My refresher course instructor (from cdg) told us the camry still on testing. Still need more time to finalised.

OMO more advantage to CDG because less usage so less wear and tear parts to change so less cost. Anyway easy just get someone to put as relief driver can liao. I know someone here is relief for 3 hirer. When log on to the driver portal can see got 3 taxi number...like very hungry like that hor....

In commercial terms , it's a smart move . Cos low rental still rules .
I thought i mentioned before , if converted into 7-seater , running on petrol . . . taxi flag down up $3.90 . Plus rental down to $65 ....
Maybe can tempt some new drivers .
But may have side effects in driving out old timer who has got "cheap diesel" mindset .
But this moves will tentatively killed off Prime Estima and Prime Wish .
Maybe convertion to petrol could well be what chao chao had said in earlier thread , BIG THING happening .
As a matter of facts ....
TransCab can actually liase with SPC for example , to supply us petrol lower than market rate with super discount ?
With almost 2000 Petrol Wish patronised them everyday .
LIke $1.80 per litre with 20% ?
Now Shell offered us $2.11 per litre with 16% discount .
Like that it will be at least on par with CNG mode , cut less those hassles .
Only SPC can do it , Axxon never interested , or Caltex or even Shell .
But can you imagine the turnovers every year just doing business with TransCab Wish ?
If TransCab are to offer that , and 100% of the Wish's drivers opt to convert , their CNG kiosk @ Toh Tuck in trouble , must tear down .
Many factors need to consider .

Yes, there are some pros but also a very obvious con to this. 5 -6 pax with surcharge, hopefully higher flag down rate is tempting, especially all going 1 or 2 place max.
But if got 5-6 pax, all going 5-6 places, like that also jialat. Imagine start from town, go bukit merah, then commonwealth, followed by Ghim Moh, Jurong East and finally Jurong west extension and pay by Nets at the end. Trip will take nearly 45 min - 1 hr depending on conditions. Maybe collect $30 +, but stuck in ulu place, have to return to town again.
Some ppl don't mind, but for myself, wah piang kena 4 place already lembik, now add 2 more, wah, I wave white flag.
But I agree if they did this, it could be an interesting idea that could interest a portion of drivers.

2008~2010 when Transcab Purchase these 2500 units of CNG cabs, they enjoy the Green Vehicle Rebate with 40% off their OMV.
Today, if Jamine Tan decide to remove the tank and convert it back to run on Petrol, how much Transcab need to return back to LTA per cabs.
Just a simple calculation, If one CNG cabs, TransCab need to pay back LTA $1,000
Then for all CNG cabs, Transcab need to 2,500 x $1,000 => $2,500,000/=
If Jamine Tan or Teo Kiang Ang is

This will be a 'burst blood vessel' situation for tds. I kena plenty of these when I was with cdg, all from call bookings so cannot reject. Must be the reason I got a mild stroke so now drive omo and with trans, less stress. Day driving go any ulu places almost no problem, probability of finding pax easier.
Hope to see a multiple destinations surcharge, anything more than 2 will have to add surcharge. LTA seems wanting to please the public but REALLY NEGLECT the tds. When 80,000 tds vote against them, maybe they will wake up.

Not necessarily 7 seaters, maybe 5 like in HK. Flag down remains the same but only add surcharge with additional paxs.

Maybe not all will be converted, they might convert only those when drivers opts to. Unless they can find a buyer for all their wishes, if not this cng problem remains.

This will be a good move. I'm getting 17% from esso but their pump price is 2.18.

YES, LOW RENTAL. With this fare structure how to support tds, we are moving into the low low income bracket.

Our transport minister already announced he would like taxis to be operated in 2 shifts or round the clock. So maybe he is using Comfort to start the ball rolling, and soon all other companies will be 'forced' to.
We should tell him to supply us with customers at ALL hours 24/7 so we can 'support' his policy.

The original listed price for shell95 is $2.23. The display on the main billboard sign is the price already factor in with an automatic 5% discount applicable for all cars without any discountt card.
The 16% discount is actually taken from $2.23 and not from $2.11 which works out to $1.87 after factoring the 16% discount.
Shell isnt selling Octane 92 petrol anymore but SPC still does with a 15% discount all add in if paying by posb credit/debit cards.
SPC 92 at $2.18 after discount is $1.85.
But lower octance mileage as compare to shell i still haven check if its in par.
Yes, $2.21 to 28 is the current 95 price, discount wise, all most petrol station varies only about 1 to 2%, Caltex offer 14% with OCBC card, another 3% rebate on bills. Exxon is also not far from it with it esso tiger card.
Petrol companies works like kopitiam kopi, they know each other well, one up, all up, one down, all down, one give discount, the other follow, one decided not to give discount, the rest follow.
