After so many incidents isnt it time we demand for our safety like installing a safety divide between us n the pax like once comfort did but removed it for the pax sake that we should be customer friendly n now we getting so many hits like the recent head being smashed n now taxi getting took over n whats next before we got attacked why isnt anybody taking any action our unions r useless n we r like going to a warzone everyday we take to the roads ,

Would you be a Taxi Driver if they did?
I prefer a in car surveilliance camera .
One the database kept by taxi company , not us .
Like those from SMRT .
Since invasion of privacy we cannot do , PAP can right ? They say can means can .
Any reason its not practical ? or not good for pax or driver ?cause everyday seing pax we cant say which one would have a loose screw nut or bolt need to be tighten or we have to take chances n find out the hard way each time a pax comes in i always hope this one creates no problem for me n i say good lucky me this time ,imagine everyday about 20 trips , i mean the scale of it does not not match any other .

I remembered once a mad guy took one silver cab and rammed into the wall along telok blangah road, now this happen again. Ssirajjj is right, we are alway at risk in this trade, not only we need to look out for traffic but also pax craziness, and most likely, sad to say, the cab companies will care more for their cabs than the TDs. If you get into any accident, notice the DRO will ask, so, how is the vehicle, serious damaged or not, never will they ask if you are ok.
To barricade will protray a dangerous society which I believe singapore govt will not want it to be, to put a cam, can become a violation of privacy which to pax, who paid for private safe journey can be offensive and invasion of privacy, even if you said LTA or taxi cab company can only view it.
Moreover, taking cam is only for seeking prove and evidence, it cannot prevent thing from happening, the idea should be more toward prevention than cure

how many of u do tat?
Actually hor, have you all also thought of violent taxi drivers? I know about pax going crazy and all, but what if taxi drivers are the ones going crazy in certain situations... And the thought of crazy taxi drivers holding iron rods sounds scarry to me...
Last time when I was young, got this garanguni man and 1 boy walk pass his sack of "rubbish" and took a small radio, the garanguni man chase after the boy and attack him with a paper cutter, cutting the boy bleeding and all... I know it's not right to do illegal things but does that mean it's alright to take the law into your own hands like the garanguni man?
Just food for thought.
Maybe the companies r not interested in our safety but only we could do something to get this safety installed in our vehicles .How about writing to LTA and ask thier suggestion only they r not money making institutes probably a better chance.
