exactly..so why charge the drivers if the camera device they purchase is only gonna be link up to company own system wch eventually becomes part of the vehicle?unless u r able to remove that damm expensive cam and use it else where when you throw key back to CDG.
but since like you said the device is incorporated with CDG system than its as good as useless once u r no longer driving for them.

according to their faq, you can remove cam from the cab if you resign and they will reformat cam and give you software also, but hv to pay $45 labour charge.

Why so much complain here????? Goto to CPIB and make report. This is suspect of kelong!!!!!!! Go there in group and make complain let CPIB busy !!!!!!!

I will buy this camera very soon .
Then i will put inside my cab and lenses facing commuters , face inside cab .
Then if pax asked me how like that can ?
I will tell them : " LTA approved one " .
Like that pax where got guts run away taxi fare ?
LTA really good to us .

Can put sticker "This cab is being monitored by CCTV approved by LTA"
This way is to cover our frontside and backside

In my opinion, camera is an external device external device does not need LTA approval some taxi has a scent device which has to be plugged into the cig socket. so this device also need LTA approval ??

In my class, trainer from LTA told us that if any cam not approve by LTA can't be use. Plus need to apply with the company u r driving for, if approved only certain models approved by LTA can be installed and use as proof in case of any accident, if not in the end all is invalid even ur cam cost u hundreds or thousand.
Sian diao to most of us in class when we heard this not only from the LTA trainer n also a taxi driver ...

wah lao a, like that other company's cab how, so troublesome just to install a camera, apply here, approve there, really kelong. -
I more sian coz I got 3 camera as gift n now can't use Liao if that's the case... Other company cab need apply lor if not any things happened also not valid ...

Valid or not is not for LTA to say. The court of law has the final say. Why?Let say for example your non approved by LTA cam in your taxi caught another vehicle in a hit and run accident and you present your evidence to the police and the culprit was caught and prosecuted due to the evidence that you produce.
So is the LTA gonna come in and say evidence not valid becos the cam installed is not approved by us?
Does this make enough sense?
If such video evidence can be used to help other road user in times of need than why cant it be used to also protect our own self?
Most lecturer at STA are half fuck type. All just teaching PT in their free time.And im sure they cant give me a reasonable answer if i posed such question to them

when u have a video evidence of your accident, its not up to LTA or any insurance companies(and dont forget insurance companies are also pitting against each representing party claims) to simply ignored it whether the cam is so called approved or not.There are repercussions to it also if they do meet a really smart cunning lawyer specialise in accident claims

The key here is, the video or cam taken of the accident can be taken as an evidence in court, you win the case if you are right.
The issue of non approve cam device used is another issue that your cab company or LTA will take up on you, they will charge you on illegal device used on their cab, not your cab. They will not charge you on invalid the photos or video taken

wah lao a, apply for approval to the taxi company for installation of camera, most probably they will impose an admin charge, don't apply kenah illegal device used also charge, both also have to pay $$$, CDG drivers buy from the company also have to pay the 'carrot head' price $375, TD really kenah squeeze until dry dry. -
