Crazy i know $375 , i doubt many will pay that kind of money for a camera .
So relax .

i not going into details but theres 2 reasons why the price like that first, by current LAT rules drivers are not allow to use non approve installations. i will just say, if during investigation of accident they find out driver got put something, they can dont care what is the video or picture for, they can focus on whacking the driver with at least one charge, illegal modification (and others but i cannot mention here). so becos of the above first rule, once the must approved camera scheme is start off in place, then the second rule is that by passing or submitting evidence you think to clear yourself, you will then be actually shooting your own foot that you are responsible for the accident in the first place! thats why very soon in future next time a $50 camera can become $300 $400 camera, means the middle $250 $350 someone eat. and thats the "approval" process. but thats not the end, its just the beginning. the more bigger picture is when every coy start the same idea, buy $50 sell $400 to EVERY REGISTED TD. now imagine that number$ ;)

there are many ways to 'motivate' drivers to go company buy company approved models, and not use non approve models. they can just play with the accident excess, just think

So, that mean, I cannot use my Iphone or galaxy note to record or take picture in the event of accident?? All these will not be taken as evidence in court, so have to buy a phone with camera from CDG???? knn, TCSS

You can't download video from the camera(somethin like build-in SD card), you got to go back to company to download.
You speed and location is also capture by the build-in GPS

True lah...fully controlled by CDG this camera. You cannot see or download anything from the camera unless at CDG.
It's all stated in the website faq. Even sd card must use theirs. Everything locked (software controlled). I think this gadget records time, location and inside-the-cabin happenings too.

If everything is controlled by CDG, then they should install the camera at their own cost. Why should TDs pay for it.
What if TD were to switch taxi company and needs to review the video. Must he go back to CDG!

The camera is LTA-approved for CDG taxis only.
