SMRT Taxi is aggresive to market its new Epica

More aggresive than the other 6 taxi companies,even advertise on Media corp radio stations. It means many of their drivers left, thus new stock few take up. btw daily rental =$115,more expensive than CDG Sonata.

My course mates, already 4 take up their offers. Tried to talk sense to them but no use.
My understaning is that the SMRT Epicas are arriving in April, and the Rental is not fixed yet, most probably will go up, depending on market forces, one of them is the COE.
No new Crowns comin in. If you apply for Crowns, probably have to wait longer than Sonatas.

A new fleet of SMRT taxis will hit the road soon
to offer better comfort to passengers
1. The public will witness a new sight on the streets on Tuesday (March 15), as SMRT
Taxis rolls out its latest taxi – the Chevrolet Epica.
2. Passengers riding in the new maroon taxis will be seated in luxury and comfort, in a
quieter interior with on-board magazines to accompany their trip. As an introductory
promotion, 35,000 tissue packs will be given out to passengers, while stock lasts.
3. The taxi windows are all lined with a solar film to keep the sun and heat out, while the rear side windows and windscreen have been tinted to lessen the glare.
4. Other features of the vehicle include automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an
anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a water-resistant floorboard.
SMRT Taxis’ fleet to be increased and improved with the Chevrolet Epica
5. The Chevrolet Epica taxi is in line with the company’s plans to increase its fleet to
meet rising demand. More than that, however, SMRT Taxis aims to do this by
enhancing the passengers’ travel experience.
6. Flag-down rate for the new Chevrolet Epica taxi will be at $3.20. Booking fees will be as per current booking fees for standard taxis – $3.50 per trip from 7 to 9.30am and 5 to 11pm on Mondays to Fridays; and $2.50 per trip at all other times, including
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Advance booking fee remains at $5.20 per
trip.
7. “This new fleet of taxis will give passengers a smoother and more comfortable ride
with its better comfort, performance and reliability,” said Ms Teo Chew Hoon,
Executive Vice-President, Commercial and Roads. “The move to improve our
vehicles is just one of the ways SMRT Taxis is realising its commitment to serve its
customers better”

Nope, not that i know of. I only got a voucher when i collected the taxi but was a small amount ($50 i think). Thats it.

As a matter of fact , if they marketed their Epicas with $5000 yearly diesel vouchers .
That itemised as $13.69 per day free diesel .
And that . . . . i would say , will be a hit !!!
Unless they got see my post here , if not not likely they want to part with their $$$ .

Smrt recently added this "win up to $5000 diesel voucher" thingy for their new epica, up to what its a mystery haha will check with them next week when i drop by their office -

what do u mean by they are serious this time,all the time they adv alot on the papers to join them as TD. I believe they have a large stock of this new Epica to clear and also their reputation is not a good taxi company (not taking care of thier of TD) as compared to CDG,may be now they are a better company than Transcab(know from this forum) I may be wrong w my analysis.

Smrt have gotten a good amouint of epicas ready to roll out on the first week of april... was last told (ard 2 weeks back) there are close to 200 confirmed new epica hirers.
From yesterday onwards all would be hirers will be called up to be informed the confirmed collection date and was told its gona be a mass issue sorta thing, hope woodlands office wouldn't be too packed on that day.
2 of my kakis from tdvl course days will be throwing their trans wish on monday but looking at the transcab situation now i am worried for them.

the rest will slowly be phased out...
