Dear seniors,
My previous CDG's Hirer charged $52 for night shift 6pm-6am, mon-sat n w/o giving any benefit.(new veh jzt 6 mths old)
Recently I looking for new CDG's Hirer, one cabby on the phone quoted me $52 for night shift 6pm-6am, mon-sat n w/o giving any benefit.(4 yrs old veh )
I asked him why your rental rate $52 tat I compared to my previous one, the reply is $50 + $2 car park.
As a new relief cabby ,I have some doubt of Sonata rental charges in market practice? Can the seniors here illustrate more info to me? Thanks in advance.
Depends on when you usually stop work. If handover at 6am, why hv to pay carpark?
If you stop early (like say 3am plus), reasonable to pay half ($45) the carpark but again why $2 per day (2x26=52)??
I charged my night relief (5pm to 5am, 7 days a week) $50 since my sonata brand new till now 1.5 yrs.
Incentives used to buy carpark. Rental free day split 50/50.
Dear Techo, for night shift 6pm-6am, mon-sat (6 days a week),in market practise do Sonata Hirer give free rentals to Relief? if yes, how many days?

I was referring to the CDG 4-monthly-once 1-day free rental which I share with my relief.
As I know, some of my kakis share and some don't. Most share if the relief drive 7 days.
All depends on working relationship btw hirer and relief.
Anyway, it has nothing to do with fair or not fair. You need the vehicle to do biz and If you feel ok, accept the terms. Else negotiate nicely or find somebody else.
Yes i agree gd relationship gd partners not easy find, as Techo mention u accept the terms, negotiate nicely or find somebody else.
Thanks u guys hav responed my query.
Before asking to be fair, relief should put themselves in the hirer's shoe.
The best part about being a relief is that he can throw key anytime he want. Wat security does the hirer have in this aspect?
Asking yourself while asking for benefits of sharing free rentals and all that, how much you prepared to give him in the first place?
Most important of all, partners should try looking at each other's good point instead of duelling on the bad parts.
As a night shift hirer myself, I got problem getting enough sleep and that night work day sleep is also inconveniencing everyone at home cos they got to try keeping quiet to let me have some sleep. As such, I actually intend to drive day and get releif at night.
But the thought of changing partner make me worry. While I might not have much envied partners like CK and Khoon, my partner is still ok la.
I bought the season parking myself, wash the car every other day myself while he take care of the interior and check engine oil and water in the day. He always come back 5.45 without fail when his shift ended at 6.30. His only "setback" is that he refuse to take seven days and he prefer day driving. He also make it know to be that every few months he will go on a short trip and will pay me $30 each day if he does that.
As I say, he might not be the best but every thing is still worry free and I dun want to stir sheet out of nothing and ended up with a even worst off partner. That's what holding me back.
While the relief has got the power to throw key anytime he want, I think the hirer whould have his right to determine the price he want to rent out. This of course can be affect by several conditions like how desperate the hirer is, the feeling of "click with each other" and most important - market supply and demand.
Just take a look at the CDG driver portal. Most hirer are looking for day relief while most relief are seeking nght shift. I can bravely said that even if i get go my night shift at $60, there will be takers - supply and demand factors.
If the hirer can let go at $60, why should he do that at $50 just to be fair? it's the rule of willing buyer and willing seller. In the event the relief might find another one able to give me $50 or even $48, u think he will just jump ship? By then, we should have establisbed certain working relation that he need to weight on.
So it fair that releif can throw key anytime while hirer can set his conditons too.
If everything want to be fair, be hirer la, then you will see things on the other side of the field.
anyway, when looking for a hirer, what type of factors one should look for?
Location - facilitates changing shift.
Relation - whether can click or not
Type and condition of cab
Type of shift offered - day or night? which one more in demand
Conditions of rental
Price
If the first 5 click, for just a few dollars more, do u still need to consider? Some still do.
Then it's back to square one searching again.
Most ppl would just "Qi Lu Zhao Ma" right?
To be fair, hirers can also kick reliefs out anytime.
Taxis companies have leave all these to TDs to take care for themselves, if you said, well $2 only, relief press meter can earn back, then why not the hirer said that they can also press meter and earn back that $2.
I believe the relationship is more like chicken and egg issue, the chicken and egg can argue all they want, but nobody gives a damn, then why are we calling each other brothers and make ourselves so miserable?
Because each party got it own interest, and these differences in interest lead to conflict of interest, both wanted to drive nite, both wanted to gain more, both wanted to benefit most for themselves.
The key is therefore to give, to understand each other, be truthful and follow on the verbal agreement, there is no laws stipulating a relief and hirer policies as there is no written agreement.
There are no perfect relationship in this world, not even husband and wife, people comes together because of the ablitiy to give and take with a consultation approach rather than a enemity approach and the also, the ability to compromise.
Discuss thing over in a understand way rather than on first issue only, relief or hirer already see each other like enemy, what is there to talk further. Both should not take issues into personnal conflict, but to take it as the original objective of helping each other out so as to earn a good living in singapore for our family.

depends on ur skills also............
And also depend on your family, health, age, hard work and how hungry are you.
Usually a family with smaller kids tends to do the day, older TD with poor eyesight also prefer days, the younger ones tend to take the night, good eyesight, hate the sun and jam and more adventurous for them.

if sleep day and worrk nite... three days onli sure fall sick de...
In order to share benefit like incentive, rental free day,
i think relief should be driving everyday instead of only 6 days a week.

Relief not happy with hirer’s t&c can alws quit, vice versa hirer not happy with relief can alws sack him/her anytime..
Hirers who seem to always wanna pick on their reliefs and wanna take the gd hours and leave bones for the reliefs and wanna charge exhorbitant rentals should just errm OMO :D
I think he just whack 105/24x6 lah.
But honestly for graveyard shift like 12mn to 6am, no motivation very hard to get takers.
When I was omo, 8pm to 7am $20 for crown, everybody "no hue" also!
