Its in the CH8 news this evening.This website http://www.sharetransport.sg offer Cost share-Car pool sharing,the car owner can offered a price of like $5 per head or seat to ferry that person to his or her destination.Sound like 霸王车 to me???

Many had tried different ways ..... still unsuccessful . Why ? Answer : Security . What kind of security ? Could be drug traffickings by anybody ? Could be molest or even rape ? Could be robbery ? If u consider my 3 points above , would u share a car with anyone , or take a bus , mrt or taxi ? And the last consideration . . . . is it expensive to take a bus , taxi or mrt ? Where safety cannot be compromise ? Yes that's my answers .

Imagine someone who get retrenched or is without a job, driving a private car and this portal provides him opportunity to drive 霸王车.

Car pool operate during morning or evening hours, how to cover petrol cost?
霸王车can operate anywhere any time, sure can make something out of it, if the drivers dare. Only can advertise their business in Internet classified but not on street job.

I dont think it is worth it for the driver.
He earns peanuts, but he is inconvenienced.
As for the Pax, like what is mentioned, Security, robbery, etc.
Taxi very safe, Drivers are all Singaporens, and most aleady married. Some more can complain if not happy... Can do that to Pte Car ornot?

Recently, I approached 2 of my neighbours who happens to be crew in SQ, hoping to get them to give me a job of fetching them to work.
I figure that as neighbours, I can skip the $8 booking fee and just based on meter, from Bt Panjang to AP anytime should have $30.
But both told me that they got regulars serving them for $22, anytime of the day, even late night charge inclusive.
Like that how to compete? Midnight I anytime close one eye also can get $38 or more.
So forget it, give me I als dun want.
Today I saw her going to work and guess what? not a taxi but a pte car. Now pte car also want to compete with taxi and give cut throat price to win business.
I also saw a 7 seater fetching staff back from XXX, private car and when the driver came out, gosh, he is wearing home clothing, shorts and round neck tees.

this can work? i dont mind if can workout somthing. i know can get spare vehcile bigger space maybe can offer to some group like office or hotel. worth try or not? outside find taxi to refer not easy, people want something, company also want something very trouble and costly. i need to stay on target, if anyone interested

some is using a car provide by company , earn extra
some is own car just to earn a little to cover fuel, installments
there is definately demand so there's supply, car pools is popular too

Car pooling used to be quite popular in the late 70s and early 80s. Used to see advertisement in the papers back then.
Technically if same company, I think it can be done but it's question of insurance. For members of public, you'll need insurance and LTA approval.

what is the point of owning a car? Its the price to pay for convenience than why bother to inconvenient oneself just to own a car? i just dont get it..... Im sure most of these owners doing such car pooling job have a full time job on their own.
And with COE and petrol maintaining at a high level for a long time to come do you really think all these cheapo car owners gonna last long on the road competing with taxis?
