[Breaking New] 4 reasons you can't get a cab when you need

  • Reliefdriver4u

Haha only true cabbies know the 'real' reason but its not pointed in the news ... why ?

eg 6 ~7 pm difficult to get cab in CDB, they just quote a russian national saying "There's just not enough cabs ..." and brush it aside, haha what a report !

  • charlize

Everything links back to population increase.

It does not take a genius to figure out a lot of our problems are because of this. icon_lol.gif

this is not a breaking news.

    in fact, this isn't "new".

very common, i want cab to go home don't have, i have no money for cab, the cab are everywhere

Over the years, the taxi industry has improved its call booking technology, added new players, and raised fares. Yet, complaints about taxi service abound.

This week, the Government announced more measures to improve cab services at peak hours. They include stricter call booking standards and plans to get more cabs on the road. But will they do the trick?

GOH CHIN LIAN and ROYSTON SIM look at the underlying issues:

    • Cabbies earn more from call bookings
    • Narrow window for handover
    • Vehicle available but driver may not be
    • Calls go through but no taxis in the area

What a waste pf space and time, this 'study'. If they had interviewed any of the seniors here, we could have easily highlighted this to them, months if not years ago.

    Wrong ... 6-7pm u forgotten City $3 surcharge .

  • Poolman

But even if got city surcharge , i get a call , i still make LTA $3 richer , why should i do that ?

  • Poolman

That's why i say ERP "taxes" on taxis must be standardised at a cap of $2 .

    Nothing more .

If they want to curb such issues on certain timing inside CDB no taxis .

I for one never go in CDB when it's $3 ERP charge .

    I let them rot .

But i am not too sure for others .

Some drivers even better , paid $3 ERP , go inside taxi stand pick .

  • Poolman

Either i go in earlier ....

    Or go in later .....

Or will have someone to bring me in .

6-7pm, i having dinner, dun disturb me.
