Why always portrait taxi driver

Wondering why in our local movies/dramas whenever the hero encounter downfall in life,he end up being a taxi driver,like condemn case. WTF,i became one bcoz iam sick of my status in my ex company,so i quit,wana be my own boss,that's all,nothing like what they show in the screen.kind of misleading,don't u think so? What's your view?

Haha, I think because many TD in real life were 'heroes' once, but now decide to live a quiet life driving cab and minding our own business!

Agree,but sometimes when our spouse look at it the other way,kind of sucks,they don't really appreciate it,u used to be so and so but now ur driving cab and what will ppl say and stuffs,kind of piss me off,that's my concern How to wake this ppl?

Perhaps it's true, TD is not glamorous and a slog, but put it to the spouse this way. If regular job, can suka suka come home for family problem, can fetch you when you're dead tired, can see you whenever?
Take this few days, I drive only 6-7 hours, no stress. If office job, be it executive or whatever, can this become possible? Channel 8 drama, is just that, drama. I was laughing when I caught a program about CID officers going after a gunman with their own side arms drawn. This never happens in real-life, if really got gunman, no police officer will stupidly go after him alone. they wil call the tactical team to deal with it.
Spouses should know that TDs are not the ideal job, but if you want your partner to be there for you and the kids, the TD job can accomodate these things which regular jobs can't.

Another why for me ? Why so bothered how people see us ? It's ok others see me as a poor man . The worst the better . But within myself , i am quietly happy to get those money i fully deserved at the end of the day .

My definition of a boss -
Real boss - Sit there yo lampar delegate tasks to ka kia.
Taxi driver - wanna collect fare lan lan must drive , cannot delegate to bangla and do.
Real boss - Sit there yo lampar , $ still come in . Profit or loss aside.
Taxi driver - sit and la kopi no $ , MC no $ , fetch wife no $ , fetch kids no $
Real boss - Sit behind
Taxi driver - hold steering , do the driving

Taxi driver in singapore is one of the most honest job, since most of us are in it, saying tire or bad about it is not going to do any good, in fact, it will make your life more miserable.
Since we are in this trade, might as well enjoy while it last.
Take the good, leave the bad behind, a real boss is good to see, but many a time, not good to eat, you see bosses growing older faster than most normal people, and most got illness or Heart problem, because running a real business is not easy as you think.
TD meet and greet each other with no string and pressure attached, most of us talks and make brothers happily, unlike working class, where there is colleague pressure, back stabber, sabotager, and many other politics, even drink kopi together also have colleague pressure and distrust among each other, from taichi (pushing job) to qinggong (pushing blame) and robin hood (arrowing), you name it.
And please alway remember, it is because of all these sins in working class, most of us including TS are driving taxis, therefore I would said that TD have no sins and definitely one happy lot.
Comparing creates envious and jealousy, just be yourself, after a day driving, give yourself a pat and said well done

being a taxi driver is never a dirty job.
it is only when you think it yourself as it is, be proud and will people look up upon you
you look down on your own, people will do the same, this apply in all industries,

Being a taxi driver is a punishment for being bad in this life when others tell us what to do
turn left turn right go straight go this way n that way dont stop stop here wait for me 1 min
,cannot pee or toilet as we wish ,driving till tired legs pressng accelarator all the time till your heart becomes week with no exercise and energy till you die one day in the taxi nobody finds out till the body rots with all the money in the bank which we cannot enjoy but our dependants so enjoy driving till you can cause we can only eat one plate of rice a meal so why the rush .THINK AND REFLECT yourself why are you here in this world for what do you achieve in the end.

I take that punishment as a pinch of salt, everyone, no matter who you are, have a boss on top of them, even if you a manager, you get order by bosses to do this and that, this budget and fire that person, and when thing never get right, what you do good in the past is nothing, just a letter of termination thanking you for your years of contribution.
When I work as casket van driver cum funeral helper, I also get ask to turn left and right, then have to carry slowly here and there, any knock on the casket could mean overturning the dead, end up getting fark by casket boss (complain) and the dead person relatives.
And worst, in the middle of the funeral procession, you go toilet??? how to go? at least TD can get excuses from pax or stop at kioks to go. You drive casket in petrol kiosk??? and worst are how people look at me??? 100 x worst than TD.
When I drive taxis after I get my TVL, frankly, I do not mind people ask me to turn left and right, more better than I go wrong way.
Uncle, infront turn left..Yes sir/madam, later right carpark straight in,...yes sir/madam, seibei song, no need to ask and think so much, later collect fares and move out, surely no mistake one, and the most,we face the pax for only 20 to 30minutes. Game over liao, in funeral work, you face the client for at least 4 hrs.
What I am want to say is, be happy with what you are, there are no punishment nor curse on you, the society do not owe you a living, nor do you owe anyone a living, and because the society gives some people like us a bad experience in the workforce that is why we turn to driving taxis, isn't it a blessing that we still got a back door to go thru whereas others could be still struggling on a 8 to 5 discipline job

yes i agree how about the so many cases everyday ,taxi driver got robbed get smashed on the head n the recent driver who who lost the taxi to a mad china guy ,he is going to pay for it the taxi driver of course is this all bad karma or punishment
