in the older days, things are cheap, house not that crazy high
in older days, pp tends to save more than spending,
in today world, as tds you drive 24hrs also cannot but condo
everthings so expensive.
anyway, could you shown the % of the tds who actually stay in this condo own it?
hope not to start a topic misleading causing other to think td earn big bucks

One of my LV colleague ...... bought a new condo at Pasir Ris , after he sold his HDB flat , condo costing him at least a cool $1m .
But his wife doing okay , not him .
I cannot imagine a taxi driver to buy a $1m Condo , work until die also can finish housing loans .

Sometimes i was thinking ....
Take me for example .
My HDB 5 room . . $328,000 .
I paid $110k , loan about $200k .
For 30 years , every month finance $798 for the loans .
$328k - $798 per month .
Imagine $1m condo , multiply 3 times enough , $2400 per month for just the loans .
Crazy right ?
Meaning if one cabby are to drive a cab for the house , his first 24 days is just for the house , and must die die take home $100 nett minimum per day .
The rest of the 6 days . . . . for the rest .
So if one are to tell me , he drive alone , , no relief , wife not working , and still buy a condo . . . how to believe ? And still alive .

One of the member , old man , around 50 years old .
Morning 6am , can hear his biddings , at night 8pm still can hear him bidding , 11pm still can hear him bidding .....
Dun seemed to go home .
Hear from one senior member , he also just bought a condo , wife not working .
kids still young .
He alone financing the house by driving a cab .
2011 , we not longer see him driving that Prime Felder , nobody saw him since .
The last time we saw him , he was like limping . . walk like one leg long , one leg short .

Actually what's so big deal about staying in Condo in HDB heartland area ?
If want to stay Condo , also must have standard , Cove drive type .

Who stay where, drive how many hours, earn how much, how many children? All these why you so concerned? Will you help them clear bills? Does this affect your livelihood or your family's?

I just recently met with TD who stays in condo. Look at him like no stress leh, dunno how he afford it lah.
He drives CDG white limo.
Maybe I should try limo? The other side says limo earns until very song lidat.

No jokes, really I help out my old buddies, at time, condo guards also sick, need to take leave etc etc, then the guard agent will call me to take over.I also attended a day security clearance to work as partime guard, usually nite guard is good, can sleep and relax, see Limo or Pte Limo cabby, tekan them, show me this and that before can go in..

recently a relatively young TD died coz overwork...
money is not everything

of course in this industry , there was many ex-CEO , ex-Managing Director , ex bla bla , already earn big bucks before , now stay in condo , drive a taxi for some pocket money , this people got , of course got .
it could apply to the 3rd generation of Singaporeans , definitely not the fourth generation like most of us here .
even a NUS lecturer could be staying in a HDB flat like Duxton @ Pinnacle

A million dollars condo flying in the air, I wonder when is it going to bust, you said landed property on freehold, I do not mind, but one condo hanging 10 storeys up cost 1.2millions, something is very wrong here.
knn with the same piece of land that I once played marble and rubber band, they build 15 storeys up, small and short, they get abt 17 millions out of it, no wonder real estate people are tyhcoon.
Chief, no all condos people are ok, some are struggling, some are bought by conglomerate (big corporation) to house their expatriates or so call FTs. Most cannot even afford a condo. Some buy to show off, but end up sufferring deep inside, nobody knows, as nite guards for condos, I see alot of cheapos, save here and there.
