Thank you to those man at the temple at Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 for helping me to chase the Indian male passenger who run away without paying taxi fare.
On 23/2/2012 00:23am, 2 Indians (one male & one female about 25 years old) boarded my taxi at the bus stop at Riverside Rd. The Indian man told me to go to Jalan Gembira to let the lady dropped first, then finally to Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 for him to get down.
Once reaching the destination near the temple at Ang Mo Kio Ave 1, The Indian male passenger suddenly opened my taxi backseat door without paying me the taxi fare and run toward Blk 222. I immediately took out my taxi key and run toward him. Few mans in the temple seeing it also chased him. But unfortunate they were unable to catch him. I lost of about S$33. Anyway I like to Thank those man at the temple who help me to chase him. Thank you again for your good actions.
May be next time, I will lock the door once reaching the destination in order not to let him have the opportunity to act so fast. During the journey I heard his conversation with his friend using Indian language. I just understand he mentioned the road names in English like Upper Aljunied Road, etc May he was telling his friend the location of taxi. I should have suspected something wrong earlier and do something. What are the measures that I can do? Do you have any suggestions? Please give your opinion.

If he kenna me, sure he dies, I former Safra runner, clocking below 8 minutes at 2.4km. But now, walk to toilet also legs pain..

They are okay pax, not demanding and ocassionally gives tips
Those well dressed ones , sometimes CMI pax

Once you kenna a run away pax, naturally, you tend to hv a phobia on this type of people. But if you never get one, count yourself lucky and pray hard it would not happen to you, the feeling is so frustrating and helpless, especially when you hv a OBK nite and then this type of farker play you out, nabei, no mood to drive liao.

And you dun expect a 50++ man to go after a 20++yo kid running at top speed around block, sudden surge can end up with cardiac arrest hor, not worthy for the fare.
If you go to mynmar, laos and even rural cambodia, their nite driver got one more assistance with him, you can call him assistant driver. Usually these assistant are young fellow, after all, a job for him in a high unemployment country, he job is to take care of the taxi driver, catch run away pax, and act as a bouncer

1 good thing about CDG ( finally I praise them) is that they will pay for the fare, if cabby is cheated. Normally you would need to print the receipt and lodge a complaint at the counter. They will re-imburse you after a week or so.
My experience was a lady who didn't pay me after ATM all out of order and my system was down. I called the DROs and eventually I got paid. Although they did forget my case, after a month I called and then it got done. Actually also no need for receipt if forgotten because they can retrieve the data online from the trip details, but better to complaint within a week of the incident.

Can TD take a picture of passenger when they aboard the taxi?

May be having a good camera installed in the taxi will help. During midnight, it will be very useful because during this period, many things can be happened. Take the picture when at the time you can see the passenger with your camera before the passengers boarding the taxi. And if the accidents happen later, put the pictures on line such as the website of www.taxiuncle.com or www.cabby.sg or www.sgforums.com to let member beware of it and also others to see it in order to prevent more case of without paying taxi fare, robbery, etc happen in future.
Any member having experience of such good camera installed in their taxi may give their opinions. May be the one that can take photo of the passengers clearly during night and it is using taxi power instead of using battery. Anyone of you using this type of good camera?
