Some taxis may be fitted with cameras

In-vehicle cameras which capture what happens in front of a vehicle may soon be installed in some taxis here.
SMRT Taxis is exploring the idea of outfitting its fleet of more than 3,000 taxis with the cameras, which can record footage usable as evidence that could well protect the driver in the event of an accident.
TransCab expects to have the cameras in all its 4,300 taxis by year's end. The two cab operators jointly run more than a quarter of the 26,000 cabs here. The largest cab operator Comfort Delgro, which operates more than 15,000 cabs, could not provide information on this matter on Sunday.
SMRT Taxis director Tony Heng said of the usefulness of the cameras in disputes over accidents: 'The footage will clearly show what happened and which party is at fault. The device could also encourage better driving habits.' He said SMRT Taxis was evaluating a tender for the supply of these cameras.

Now many Private-cars have it too... so common.
I fixed one set (Front & Back) on my Viano.... Cost only $528 + installation. from ZMC @ Serangoon North Ave 5.
It can runs on a 32GB SD card, which is about 16hrs of recording, before overlapping the previous recording (Front & Back).. It also have GPRS, speed travelling and voice recorder.
Best thing is.... it records even when engine is turned off.... (for at least 20hrs w/o running your car's battery low).
1 year warrenty.....can go to their website and check it out... -
Aiyo, so many cameras..here cameras, there cameras, want to hide my face also difficult. I find today people are less trustful then last time, last time, drive crown, front knocked, I wrong, back knocked, the other wrong, side knocked on my door, I wrong, side knocked on pax door, other wrong.
Even last time, our house and many other house open their gates and doors also no problem, all like greet each other happily, now, all door shut, gate lock, cameras on here and there. Sound very inhuman.

Yes I am aware. But to use my own video footage to get another driver charged for dangerous driving means going to court and be a witness. Its not so simple.......

Correct. Also can try some IT shops around level 4 in funan. Those run by foreigners. Very low prices too. I got my sandisk 32GB class 4 sdhc for around $45.
But I believe justdoit bought a high end class 10 sdhc which costs alot of money.

cls 10 if u wan to use for recording with video cam or for photo
taking with camera will be gd. for car recording cls 4 will do liao..........

Could be, maybe gold coated, NTUC extra only $42 for 32GB, $160 can buy a hard disk of 700GB
I am more conern of traffic light cameras, speed cameras and TP on bridge taking cameras

I think its because your viano is own money, so better dun risk side scratches tio bo? Hahaha.....

Viano or Pte Vito (Model 115) has longer wheel base than the CDG's Maxi cab. Hence the turning radius are also wider than Maxicab...
That's why we are advised not to go into Older Buildings CPs.
