This is how i use my iphone GPS.
Pax tell u destination. U dun no. So open google maps. Key in address. Look at the location. Just drive and aim towards there using the best highway. There is no risk of accident. Its a safe n proven method.
Ipad or iphone is your choice. But ipad 1 or 2 got no GSM phone, so u need 2 devices.
u can try going to 42 horne road.. they have this holux gps for 199.. i'm using it and it handle well on the road direction
Fark lah single post. Dun pretend to be cabby lah. Your Powerex nimh batteries, GPS, MDT all no discount one. Very expensive ok? Salesman maciam ai lai mai sua. GPS for cabbies after a while no more use already. But iphone can use for many years. After warranty repair easily available. Even iphone 3g after so many years still can sell used set for around $300. What about your GPS? Got healthy second hand market? I bet u charge arm n leg for repairs.

Currently I am using that.
After pax tell me location, I just search when reach a traffice light and they go to that location. So far, have some rate of success. But sometimes, the fucker played me out when I need them most. Many times, search for a road and it leads me to dunno what country's road.
Anyway, this one just show you location right? not navigate u to it.
The other option I using now is the MDT. That day after dropping a pax at Holland Rd, suddenly got a booking for Jalan Lim Tai See. Dunno where the fuck it is and in the middle of the night too. Just press the "MAP" on the mdt and it shows me where I am and also the destination. I just follow according to and amazingly, it leads me to there. Dun ask me which way I took cos I also dunno.
Best GPS still the human brain~~~~

LV66 is he the one who everything also say "coming coming"?
Tell him where got road block, he reply "coming coming" faint!
Cumming maybe...
So far I have been using my Iphone 4 as a GPS. I downloaded the application Navfone and to my surprise, it works perfectly fine plus the "search time" is fast. Developed by local company and it's cheap. Apart from Navfone there are still others like Papago and TomTom which have decent reviews but I can't confirm since I'm not using it. Navfone by far is the cheapest among them ($1.99). I used to own a dedicated set, Garmin, but Navfone beats it hand down when it comes to re-routing downtime. Searching for local address is easy, effortless and fast as well. Last but not least, I am not a Navfone salesman, just a super relief for BRT. Cheers mate~

u know why he say coming coming ? he is doing it on purpose , by pressing the PTT after u give info , he is actually using up your talk group time. Anyone that answers subsequently their air time count yours.
LV 227 is another irritating fella who does that.
Anyone here has got a GARMIN and outgrown his needs and wanna sell?
Pls contact me.
Hi TS, if you want, you can try to use this software (SYGIC) which I've been using. Very impressive and accurate. Somemore, the POI is up to date with my version. If i need to find and petrol Kiosk nearby, just keyed in the Kiosk name u want (Caltex), then within a few sec will display those nearby. Also can use shortcut like A M K st (with space) for Ang Mo Kio Street. Only the recent 11.2.4 version and above is good, the previous few CMI.
I'm using this software in my Adroid phone (HTC Desire). It is also applicable for iphone too. But, the bigger the screen the better cos can see more. You need help to get the s/w let me know. Take care...

Just search my app store, wah, need to pay $24.99 right?
I heard Sygic is good too, anyway for temporary usage, I feel it's worth it to pay $1.99 to try out the Navfone app... price is about a plate of chicken rice so not so heart pain..
Big James my brain can ?

To get the full version of SYGIC for iphone, it will cost $24.99. Thus, if NAVfone app is also good and cheap, why not give a try.... But, if u really want a v v good GPS, I think Garmin is still the best as per all my friend is recommending too....
