Yeah , so post your experiences on jumpstyle like how long have u learnt jumpstyle , which are your favorite jumpstyle groups/people,favorite song (please not the secret..too common in SG .. listen to other songs plz LOL)
Yeah ill start ...
so ive been introduced to jumpstyle for like 4-6 mths.Learnt from many ppl. 2fast2jump videos are my latest videos i see moves i may wanna use/edit to do
Im an Australian :P lol but grown up in SG with SG parents. So kinda weird not learning shuffle, although i do it for fun infront of shufflers lol.
Left legged , but not 100% confident in advanced left turns, cause i learnt the "right turning" mainly.
Currently , ive taught about roughly 5-7 ppl basic , 3 ppl for performance. Ive choreographed a performance for Teachers Day 29/8/08. Gonna post my vid soon.
The performance includes shufflers , and common , we all are the X-generation "dancers" so we shouldnt dislike each others own dance... and also ... i dont really like ppl to call me/us dancers... need a more nicer name lol , other than Jumpstylers.
haha i must agree.. Patrick Jumpen so common . Jelak already lol and most of the newbies thought that all jumpstyle songs came from Patrick Jumpen. LOL
My experiences:
I only teach people basic because basic is more important. Without basic, it wont consider Jumpstyle (maybe Anyhow-Jump-Style-) lol.
I know Jumpstyle before my N level starts (around August 2007) before Jumpstyle got popular in Singapore (during the Shuffle Era) For me, i don't wanna learn shuffle anymore because common already. After i see students with short pants dance jumpstyle, its meaningless to me. More like a kids dance but, that won't stop me.
I learnt Jumpstyle Basics from GoldenInferno (his YT username: GoldenInferno,Participant of You Think You Can Dance Season 3 & 4, before Patrick Jumpen post his Tutorial) Currently , i posted 5 own jumpstyle videos at YouTube. I will post my another video till i master my own style/tricks and i hope passionate jumpers out there can make their style too because i don't wanna be a fool. & i'm proud that Jumpstyle is now popular.
Don't follow Patrick Jumpen..
He's not a good jumper but a good musician. Energy & OpperJumper are the good jumpers that i've seen.
Since August 2007, i'm still learning and try to explore more tricks. If Patrick Jumpen got his own style/tricks, me and also you jumpers out there can also explore and invent your own tricks/style.
Keep on Jumpin' Singapore!
