  hi my name's Aaron Toh, will be 17 this year 2008. i love drawing and viewing people's art. i plan to have art as my career in the future.

  Hoping to be in the art , advertising and design industry in the near future. To be specific it is Graphic Designs.

  Artists that inspire me are MC Escher, Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte. Style im into is Surrealism. I like portrait stuffs too but for unknown reasons i like to draw males only..   ??  the eyes and the nose are my fav parts in a human face.. i just think that they are the most interesting parts.........

  Just discovered this forum btw    will upload some pics when im free, now busy workin on my stuffs

  By the way people, art is interest, hardly earn much... I love photography, but picked up as a hobby only... taking up other diploma in Ngee Ann... well Laselle is better choice for art lovers in sg... !!

  welcome welcome ^^

  i believe if one forms correct connections and has the ability etc, art can definitely be profitable. singapore is an art-dry place compared to lots of countries worldwide. as long as you have the motivation and ability can de :)

  cause according to some "lao jiang" << old ginger in chinese, they told me artist cant make it big til they're dead !! Yeah got to agree that happens MOST of the time!

  o man my aunt told me that before... yea i know this perception.

  if the artist is dead, its always for sure the money will rise mah. but its possible to make it big when alive, and it has always been the fact that a dead artist work will be more profitable when he/she was alive - regardless if the artist was successful or not successful when he was alive.

  the public has formed a HUGE stereotype about the term 'starving artists'. if the person has the talent, skill and openess to improve , mindset, they will most likely succeed. most are just happy to live by their art. making it big isn't that much of an issue with you work by hard and not money. live is too short not to enjoy :D
