one of the most commonly debated topic in singapore probably.
I am a singapore guy who haven't went through NS, and im saying that NS shouldn't be abolish, but women should be included.
Reasons ? simple, women wants to be treated equally and fairly.
We, as guys are already not as treated as "equally" compared to the females counterparts in singapore.
Just an example, the cane, it would never touch a girls bottom.
Another example is that Guys are always punished more severely than females when it comes to the law context. A guy rapes a girl = life time sentence and condemn by society,while Girl rape guy = no biggie. Takes two hand to clap, isn't that true ?
The law should not favor a gender and deemed it as "weaker" when they want to be equal.

There are many ways in which they are not equal to men.
Physically,
mentally and
socially. -
If women were to be added into NS.
they can be doing staff vocations such as paperwork, drivers, medics, vocations which are not physically streneous.
this way, the SAF, SCDF, SPF can fully focus the males on operational vocations. -

as you can see, man "waste" this 2 years while the exact opposite counterparts can enjoy or work.
i am not here to say that we should abolish NS as a whole, i am here to say, why not include women in NS, they also always complain unequal treatment mah, and whats more, singapore law already favor them more than the guys.
and when women join army, i hope got pes a pes b pes c type, then let them do work according to their pes group. tio boh ? -

Girls should go NS? Yes. Not because we demand equality, but because of what we could learn from there.
Team work, building relationships and learning survival skills.
Laws wise... well... it does take 2 to clap... but it only takes one to initiate. If one wants something, the other just oblige to it, it's still 2 hands.
If both wanted it in the first place, then it wouldn't be a crime, isn't it? Unless it's a case of thief crying thief. -
