  Dear Tea Kakis, Found this interesting portable mechanical scale that comes in handy in weighing tea leaves. http://balances.com/deering10.html Abe, who is in US, has kindly consented to help out as the local postage is more affordable.   I have a friend in the US who uses it, and I find it inconvenient, chiefly because to use it for tea, you can put the leaves in the little bowl provided in the scale, if you place the leaves heavier on one side, the weighing is inaccurate, you have to place the leaves right in the centre of the bowl to make sure the scale weighs it accurately.

  I understand that there is a diamond wholesale shop in Chinatown (friend says Mosque st, but I couldn't locate it) that sell this scale as well as the digital one, prices about S$40-50 for the basic model.
