Yes please,Originally posted by Fatman2:Yup. He is sending me the Menghai secret aroma sample as well as the 002 and 003. Will be here by this weekend I think.
Colin, you want to try the rest? I can ask him for samples when he ship out my 001s.
Hmmm, why Foo Cha Ji?Originally posted by ck2998:Yes please,
I am interested in Menghai and Foo Cha Ji samples.
There are gems in some of the independent/eccentric puerh makers.Originally posted by kevint88:Hmmm, why Foo Cha Ji?
Bai Cha Tang may be considered an independent puerh maker, but while he doesn't deal in the politics of tea world, he is rumoured to have an iron lady for a wife who is pushing their teas into the high end price bracket and is putting off a lot of collectors.Originally posted by ck2998:There are gems in some of the independent/eccentric puerh makers.
From the limited samples I have tried, Foo Cha Ji appeals to my taste. Bai Cha Tang is another.
Of course! Will you be going to Temple Street this Saturday? I can only attend the Saturday session...Originally posted by Fatman2:Haha, Colin has been wanting to chase that for a while now. Supposedly a guy who doesn't want to be involved in the politics of the tea game and has produced some rather decent tea cakes.
Colin, will try to get that for you. The menghai ones may arrive earlier as I had requested for them a few days ago. Did you like the 0772?
The Mengku 002 and 003 should be arriving latest by tomorrow. Ready to test amigoes? hehe

Foo Cha Ji is never an independent or eccentric puerh maker, he has collaborated with many of the large factories for his teas, and is a very shrewd but extremely friendly businessman. If you are going to the Tea Exhibition in KL you'll have high chance of meeting the man himself there. I don't think much of Foo Cha Ji early pieces that are offered by Scott, but his later ones are much better.
In fact, I think you have one of his recent pieces, if I remember correctly over one of the tea sessions you mentioned.

I can't make it this Sunday, maybe the next one?Originally posted by ck2998:Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the info on Foo Cha Ji.
I have tried his 02 AiLuo Shan. Quite pleasant. If his later puerh are better, I must try them out.
BTW, is there a another tea meeting on Sat? I'm afraid my Saturdays afternoon are occupied.
Sure, What time are you going? I can only go later part of afternoon.Originally posted by kevint88:Of course! Will you be going to Temple Street this Saturday? I can only attend the Saturday session...
Haha. Sounds good.Originally posted by ck2998:Hi Sebastian,
I will try to make it this Sunday.
Regarding 0772, its has a floral taste. While I don't dislike it, it does not give me the wow factor.
I just received another sample that I would like you to try. I will not leak out any info so as not to bias your opinion.
