Dumdum~! Shuangjiang Mengku 100 Year Old Tree...

Did any one bought or tried the Shuangjiang Mengku 100 Year Old Tree which was available last year or so from Yu Hwa Departmental store?
I bought one piece last year, broke it and kept aside, tried last night and it was gooood...surprising, since I thought anything from Yu Hwa would be run-of-the-mill generic product...
...btw it is in a wrapper with pink (!) wordings... -
I have the version from 2004. It is very good. May also have a 2005 stashed somewhere. SM teas are surprising good. So far, the LBZ, MYC, DXS, and this PNLS have stood out. Have lots more to test. The chun jian seems quite good too. Have not gotten to the YCC.
BTW, was told that the Menghai secret aroma is also very good. Will be getting the sample soon.

Scott is listing more 2007 raw Menghai's (8582, 7542, 7432).
There's even batch 002 of Mengku Mu Yue Chun which is said to be more suitable for long term storage. -
Yup. He is sending me the Menghai secret aroma sample as well as the 002 and 003. Will be here by this weekend I think.

Saw the writeup. Getting the 002 and 003 cakes this weekend. Will know for sure what he means. Wonder where he got the taiwan info from.......hehe

From what I've sampled, the 002 definitely has more oomph than the 001. As to the question whether or not 002 can store better than 001, there are some Taiwanese collectors who think both are not excellent for ageing... -

Foo Cha Ji is never an independent or eccentric puerh maker, he has collaborated with many of the large factories for his teas, and is a very shrewd but extremely friendly businessman. If you are going to the Tea Exhibition in KL you'll have high chance of meeting the man himself there. I don't think much of Foo Cha Ji early pieces that are offered by Scott, but his later ones are much better.
In fact, I think you have one of his recent pieces, if I remember correctly over one of the tea sessions you mentioned. -

I have tried his 02 AiLuo Shan. Quite pleasant. If his later puerh are better, I must try them out.

Regarding 0772, its has a floral taste. While I don't dislike it, it does not give me the wow factor.
