1983 - Mr Lin Xingyun left Xiaguan tea factory to start Nan Jian Cha Chang
1983~1985 - The factory produced mainly green tea for the mass market
1985~1989 - The factory began to produce tuocha
1987 - The factory registered the brand "Shilin" with "Fenghuang" as its label.(reg. on 10 May 1987, reg. no. 286510)
However, the production volume during 1985~1989 was small and exported solely to Chongqing; most of the factory's production then was for local consumption, and not export.
1990~1992 - For unknown reasons, the factory didn't produce any tea between 1990-1992, but it was a collection and distribution centre of maocha ingredients for the other factories.
1993 - The production resumed on tuocha, this time with dates printed on the wrappers. The products were still not exported beyond Chongqing.
1994 - Increased in production volume allowed the tuochas to be exported to Guangzhou, Hongkong, and South East Asia.
1996?~1998? - Production stopped once again for Nan Jian Cha Chang, and the Shilin brand was handled by its sister company, Nan Jian Province Tea Leaf Company.
When production resumed some time in late 90s, the two companies split and Shilin brand was held by Nan Jian Province Tea Leaf Company, while Nan Jian Cha Chang had to register a new brand "Gu De", but still produced tuos under the "Fenghuang" label.
2003 - Nan Jian Cha Chang produced pu'er cakes.
There are currently 3 factories in Nan Jian:
Nan Jian Cha Chang
Nan Jian Province Tea Leaf Company
Nan Jian Fenghuangtuo Cha Chang
