A marriage is the union of 2 families. It was never juz the couple. I've seen too many couples have disputes during the planning of their wedding.
It's tedious and really straining physically & mentally.
Luckily for me, my parent are very liberal about my wedding (if I ever have one). No banquet. Juz spend the money on the solemnisation and honeymoon, and the new apartment. LOL
I'm so blessed to have my parents.
