One More Season, Confirms MaldiniAC Milan skipper Paolo Maldini has confirmed that he wants to play for one more season before hanging up his boots.
The Rossoneri legend admitted, however, that it would depend on how he shaped up after a pending knee surgery.
"I will continue next season," said Maldini, who missed yesterday's fabulous 3-0 win over Manchester United.
"After the final, I will have a [knee] operation, and I hope to be able to play what would be my final European Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup [after winning the Champions League]."
The 38-year-old had admitted yesterday evening that he would have gone in for an immediate operation had Milan been knocked out, but that he will now focus on getting fit for the Athens date.
The operation will now take place in the week following the final, and barring any complications, he will be ready for the start of the new season, and to continue his magical career.
He will make it a record eighth Champions League final appearance in three weeks, and could chalk up his fifth trophy. He won with Milan in 1989, 90, 94 and 2003, and was on the losing side in 1993, 95 and 2005.
