  Time shifting doesn't mean this.
  
  It basically means shows are recorded and stored on this device can be viewed at a later convenient time.
  
  Those who record shows on VCR should know. Sometimes you aren't at home, so you set the VCR recorder to record this particular 7pm show. When you are back, you can watch. That's time shifting.
