  And art emcompasses more than just works of that era. We're learning ways to create works of our own in various fields of art and design.
  
  Logic and rationality alone make subjects clinical and cold. I think you should know that design is increasingly being used by manufacturers and firms today to set their products and publicity apart.

  Yes, hence ChingAlvin should not be encouraged when he does so. Even if he is an 'artist'.
  
  I think you misunderstand what I meant when I raised the renaissance and logic. The renaissance is seen by some as the birth of the triumph of reason - I was referring to you seemingly biased (and therefore irrational) stance in encouraging the ramblings of ChingAlvin.
  
  As someone said, tis about apples and oranges.
  
  If this thread is about artists ranting about their self-worth, then fair enough. I will bow out.
