ASHLEY COLE is facing an FA charge after his V-sign at Arsenal fans.
The Gunners regained top spot with a gritty display.
But FA chiefs will study video of the incident where ChelseaÂ’s full-back made the gesture on his first return to his old club.
Cole reacted to a section of the Emirates where home fans were chanting at him.
The ex-Arsenal favourite was abused throughout the match. He was then involved in a bust-up with midfielder Cesc Fabregas in injury-time, which saw him raise his arm after the Gunners star chopped him down.
Cole had already been booked and was lucky to escape a red card.
Fabregas did receive a yellow card. It was a messy end to a match won by former Chelsea man William Gallas.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: It was the perfect response to Manchester UnitedÂ’s win.
The three points were deserved and reflect our spirit. WeÂ’re confident we can win the title.
The belief is there but I prefer it remains a four-horse race. It makes it more interesting.
We showed today that we can fight when we need to as well as play good football.
