Indeed! Most singaporeans are psychologically conformists, which is a few steps away from self-actualisation.
I would suggest the solution to this is to develop a mind-set that one of our goals in life is a process mainly about constant seeking and questioning of the unknown, rather than jumping into conclusion by buying a system of thought or belief either out of fear or external, traditional, or religious manipulation, or just without truly considering the fallacies or potential fallacies within that system, in which I would call this critical or rational thinking.
