As written in another thread:
If a guy is sick for a long time, he pray and he recover , they will think that it is unbelievable and god has really answered their prayer.
If a guy is sick for a long time, he pray and he still die, they will think that god has a reason for doing everything and he has gone to heaven to join god.
Do you find it fishy in such kind of thinking. It seems that whether or not the prayer is answered, the belief in god will strengthen if the prayer is answered and remain the same if the prayer is not answered.
Anyway, in the first case, people who have their prayer answered attribute their cause to god. However in science, psychology and philosophy, casuality is not proved in such casual matter.
From this we can induce the nature of christian belief. For every good things that happens when praying and worshipping is done, it will seen as a miracle and evidence of god existence.
For everything that does not turn out good, it does not lead to a reduction of belief. Instead, it is explain in terms that god has a reason for everything.
what i can say is
it's all in the head, what they think.
if they're strong, they'll make it through.
no help from any imaginary being.
just plain support of families, friends and most of all, the will power of the individual.
