He was on his way from SYD with the stop in Paya Lebar a scceduled refueling stop. The plane did, however, have an electrical problem. Looks like he ended up in Pakistan.

OK. it turns out that he was on his way to afganistan for a visit.
He survied an assasination attempt when the airbase he was leaving in got attacked by incomming motar yest. -
