How do u know whether ur above 10k ft?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Yup. I see people with laptops do that all the time. You just have to observe the FAA restriction of not operating your laptop (or other electronic devices) below 10,000 ft.
(We're talking about inflight entertainment here, so your question was completely on-topic! )
You open a cabin door, toss a coin out, and time how long it takes to hit the ground.Originally posted by ceecookie:How do u know whether ur above 10k ft?

Oh.And the plane will only go above 10k fts for certain flights right?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:You open a cabin door, toss a coin out, and time how long it takes to hit the ground.
Actually, once the aircraft passes 10,000 ft., a cabin announcement will usually be made to inform you that you can or cannot now use electronic devices.
Most commercial airliners (including most propjet commuters) cruise above 10,000 ft.Originally posted by ceecookie:Oh.And the plane will only go above 10k fts for certain flights right?

At least i'll be on a airbus A330-200 all the way to Portland. They have the inflight entertainment on those planes. From detroit to the Minneapolis, a beoing 757 and from there to Toronto, i'll be on a Canadair Regional Jet.
