I heard for flights from Singapore to USA,u can opt for Internet service.
But i dunno how fast the Internet speed gonna be. -

Actually, once the aircraft passes 10,000 ft., a cabin announcement will usually be made to inform you that you can or cannot now use electronic devices. -

of course there is !! The cabin crew..and the seatbelt signs..give u guys a hint here;
when the CHIME goes on and the SeatBelt sign goes off n you see the crew get up from their stations for service n the chief purser starts to make annoucement like"
Ladies n gentlemen, the seatbelts signs have now been switch off but for your own added safety, please keep your seatbelts fastened at all times..bla bla bla....."

At least i'll be on a airbus A330-200 all the way to Portland. They have the inflight entertainment on those planes. From Portland to the Minneapolis, a beoing 757 and from there to Toronto, i'll be on a Canadair Regional Jet. -
