U siao ah? Like that Singapore not independent lo. (I mean, look, a fully recognized independent country without professional league? U gotta kidding me. Even North Korea also have similar league ok. Check wikipedia etc to confirm this.)
Only Etoile FC make an impact on our S league.
We need those kind of teams to bring our S league to higher level.
And not those other foreign teams, lousy and terrible.
Bring in more teams like Etoile FC.

I think all the benefits of foreign team joining S-League given by FAS are bulls.
First of all, most footballers in Singapore play for 1 main reason only - livelihood. They need the money to feed their family. And really no offense here but the money the footballers make playing professionally is probably much more than what they can get on a job with the qualifications they have.
The foreign teams create more competition for places in local team as local teams now focus on signing the better players instead of letting youngsters have a go as the team's place is under threat. (Think lesser prize money + Gate Receipts + Sponsorship)
With dwindling gate receipts, the S-League clubs are surviving on sponsorship. Now how can they sign better players with lesser money?
And with nothing much to compete on (No relegation system, not much prestige as it's only a 10-14 team league, not much prize money for champions), the players turn up every week to play football just to earn their livelihood. It's just part of their job as stated in the contract.
To survive and make more money (Some players claimed to earn at least twice as much playing overseas in addition to perks like free cars and houses), some local players will venture overseas with the latest being Khairul Amri and Sharil Ishak. And noticeably, those that have left the league are the top players that Singapore has to offer. Has the FAS realised that? Or until the entire Singapore Team plays overseas before they take some action to revive the league?
So tell me how does foreign team improve S-League?
