Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate has played down talk of a possible England recall.
Woodgate continued his fine form with another commanding performance in the goalless draw against Portsmouth on Tuesday.
He has been watched several times by Steve McClaren this season and reports suggest he could be brought in for next week's international friendly with Spain.
However, Woodgate knows there are others in contention and insists he is focused solely on Middlesbrough having finally overcome his injury problems.
"I am not really thinking about England," said the on-loan Real Madrid man.
"John Terry will probably be fit for this weekend anyway and then there is also Jamie Carragher, Michael Dawson and Wes Brown who have been in squads before, so I really don't know.
"The next game I am thinking about is Arsenal on Saturday, but it's nice to get positive feedback from people.
"There is no doubt that it obviously helps your game, but I am just doing what I have always known I could do with a consistent run of games.
"In fairness it's not just me who is playing well, it's the whole team and we have worked hard on defending.
"I feel much sharper with each passing match and I think I'm just about at my peak fitness. It is such a relief after so many months on the sidelines."
