Dirk Kuyt has exclusively told skysports.com that Liverpool will not give up on the Premiership title.
Grand Slam weekend saw The Reds reduce the gap to leaders Manchester United to 11 points after a 2-0 home win over champions Chelsea.
A day later, Liverpool's arch-rivals lost 2-1 at Arsenal to tempt Rafa Benitez's side back into the battle for the championship.
Dutch striker Kuyt accepts it is a big ask to overhaul United, but revealed confidence is high at Anfield following eight wins in nine league games.
"Winning the title would be very difficult," Kuyt told skysports.com.
"We know we are 11 points away from Man Utd, but in football you never know. I've seen stranger things happen in the last few years.
"The only thing we have to do is win our own games and see what the other teams are doing.
"We have a lot of confidence and we have also got Man U at home and Arsenal at home.
"It will be nice to beat them and see what happens."
Liverpool are also only five points behind second-placed Chelsea and Kuyt confirmed the immediate objective is to forge past Jose Mourinho's men.
He added: "It's also a target for us to get behind Chelsea, that's normal if you are only five points behind them.
"We have showed now that we can also beat the big teams."
