Bolton have completed the signings of Slovakian pair Lubomir Michalik and Zoltan Harsanyi from FC Senec.
Michalik moves to The Reebok Stadium on a three-and-a-half year deal, while Harsanyi has joined on loan until the end of the season.
The duo's arrival ends a frustrating time for Sam Allardyce, who has twice previously appeared close to strengthening his squad this month.
David Dunn was minutes away from signing before Blackburn's late bid and Fousseni Diawara had looked set to join on loan.
Slovakian international defender Michalik moves to Bolton permanently, with Allardyce believing the 23-year-old can have great success in the Premiership.
"I have been impressed with Lubomir. He has a great presence on the field and looks the part," Allardyce told the club's official website.
"He is good in the air and has all the right attributes to be a success at this level. He has had experience at international level."
Striker Harsanyi, 19, is seen as one for the future, but Allardyce is confident he has the potential to go far.
He added: "We have taken Zoltan on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.
"From what we have seen, he has great potential and has all the natural ability to make it at this level. His pace and movement is very good and he likes to take on the opposition.
"He is one for the future and over the next few months we will get a good chance to assess him.
"The two lads are for the future and over time will get used to the culture and life in the Premiership."
