Preston North End have rejected a bid from Fulham for goalkeeper Carlo Nash.
Reports have claimed that the Premiership club are keen to take Nash to Craven Cottage in a £500,000 deal.
The former Crystal Palace keeper has also expressed his wish to join Fulham as he is keen to return to the capital.
But he will have to bide his time for a move after Preston turned down an offer from Chris Coleman's side.
Preston chairman Derek Shaw admits the bid was not suitable and is now looking to draw a line under the matter.
"We have received a bid from Fulham for a fee which is close to what was reported in the press earlier this week, but that bid has been rejected," Shaw told the club's official website.
"A large percentage of the fee is based on appearances and for Preston North End to receive the full fee Carlo Nash would have to make 80 appearances in the Premiership.
"We do not believe Fulham's offer meets our valuation of the player and selling him for that price would not only leave us in a difficult situation in the short term, but we would also find it almost impossible to find a suitable replacement for the money received.
"As far as we are concerned that is the end of the matter."
