Serie B club Genoa have completed the noticeable capture of Marco Di Vaio.
The former Juventus striker returns to his native Italy following what proved to be an ill-fated spell in France with Monaco.
Having failed to ever produce anything like his top form in the Principality, Di Vaio wasted little time in agreeing a termination of his contract, in order to pursue pastures new.
Di Vaio, a full Italy international, was also thought to be interesting the likes of Torino, Palermo and Milan but none of these clubs were prepared to offer him anything more than a six-month, short-term deal.
Seeking to settle after a somewhat nomadic experience over the past couple of years, Di Vaio has elected to opt for the security of a two-year sojourn at Genoa.
Di Vaio will now look to rejuvenate his somewhat stilted career back in Italy, having scored just eight goals in the past two seasons.
