As skysports.com revealed at the weekend, Manuel Fernandes is poised to complete a move to Everton.
The Benfica midfielder, who spent the first half of the season at Portsmouth, is due for a Goodison Park medical on Monday after Everton beat off competition from Middlesbrough.
All being well, Fernandes will join The Toffees on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent signing in the summer.
Reports claim Toffees director Keith Wyness has shaken hands on a deal with both Benfica and the player himself.
A fee in the region of €9million (£6million) has been mooted, while a four-year contract is on offer to the player.
Fernandes made 12 appearances for Pompey and Harry Redknapp was keen on pursuing a permanent deal with the player but baulked at Benfica's asking price.
