Roma and Tottenham Hotspur could be set to resume negotiations over a deal for defender Lee Young-Pyo.
The Italians tried to sign the South Korean international full-back this summer, before being blown out by the player at the last minute.
But the sale of young centre-back Calum Davenport to West Ham United has created a vacancy in Martin Jol's squad.
Giallorossi appear to have an ideal replacement in the shape of Italian international defender Matteo Ferrari (pictured) and so a swap deal between the clubs could now be on the cards.
While Ferrari disappointed in his loan spell at Everton last season, he could now be in line for a return to the Premiership should all the parties reach an agreement for the swap.
The clubs will have to be quick if they are to complete negotiations before the January transfer window closes, or they face the prospect of a delay until the summer.
