Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insists the club will not be bringing in any stop-gap players.
The Blues have been linked with moves for several players as they look to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.
Kenyon admits the club are finding it hard to bring in the right players and he insists they will not panic buy in this month's transfer window.
"We will only try and get players we are interested in," said Kenyon.
"It is not about just filling space.
"If that player is available, will that player feature next season, which is important? Not just bringing someone in for two-and-a-half-months.
"It is notoriously difficult finding that type of player who will make that impact on Chelsea."
