Manchester United defender Gary Neville has vowed to grant his manager's wish and etch his name on the scoresheet this season.
While Neville is a model of consistency defensively, and a regular supplier of goals on his forward forays from right-back, what he is most definitely not is a goalscorer.
His last goal came 26 months ago against Lyon in the UEFA Champions League, with his taskmaster Sir Alex Ferguson always quick to remind him of his barren run in front of goal.
Neville, who often finds himself in presentable goalscoring positions, admits that he should have scored more, for both club and country.
"I should have had at least four goals for United and England," said Neville.
"I have never had more chances and got into better positions than I am doing now. I need to score and I am aware of that.
"I am annoyed with myself I have not scored already."
With United sitting atop of the Premiership table by six points, Neville concedes it is a temptation to have one eye on what is happening at those clubs beneath them, particularly Chelsea.
However, the experienced campaigner is too wise a head to be distracted, warning his team-mates to concentrate only on what is happening at Old Trafford, and not elsewhere.
"I am not going to lie to you and say we do not look out for their results," he concluded.
"But we do not do that as much as maybe with six, seven, eight games to go.
"You do not start to worry too much at this stage of the season."
