Primera Liga strugglers Levante have sacked Juan Ramon Lopez Caro and installed Abel Resino as their new head coach.
Former Real Madrid boss Lopez Caro (pictured) was dismissed earlier on Monday following a 3-0 defeat to Valencia at the weekend that failed to halt a run of just one win in 10 games.
The Levante powerbrokers have now moved quickly to install former Ciudad de Murcia coach Resino as their new boss, and the former Atletico Madrid keeper is keen to take on the task of steering the club away from danger.
"I believe I have the ability to rise to this challenge. I am taking this job with all the enthusiasm in the world and will dedicate myself to ensuring that the club stay in the Primera Liga," Resino told a news conference.
"It will be a challenge for the players as well as me, because I come with different ideas to the previous coach."
Levante are currently in 17th place in La Liga with a tally of 18 points from 18 games.
