Manchester City have handed a one-week trial to Internazionale defender Francesco Coco.
The Italian international is currently out-of-favour with the Nerazzurri and has flown to England to link up with Stuart Pearce's side.
City have a vacancy at left-back having sold Ben Thatcher to Charlton, and if Coco impresses at Eastlands he could be handed the chance to forge a career in the Premiership.
The 30-year-old started his week's trial on Monday, just days after pleading with Inter to play him or allow him to leave Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Since recovering from back problems the former Milan man has failed to earn a place under Roberto Mancini and now looks to be on borrowed time with the Serie A leaders.
Messina have also been linked with the player who spent last season on loan with Livorno.
