Ryan Giggs admits his sole motivation is winning the Premiership title, rather than surpassing Sir Bobby Charlton's Manchester United appearances record.
The Welsh winger has moved into second in the club's all-time list this season and has now featured in 693 games for the club.
He is within sight of Charlton's landmark of 759 games, but Giggs concedes his focus is on ending United's wait to reclaim the Premiership.
"It isn't something I have really thought about because 18 months is still a long way away," Giggs told the News of the World about reaching Charlton's tally.
"Obviously, if I am still playing, and playing well, then I wouldn't want to go anywhere else, but reaching 700 appearances would be nice.
"The thing that motivates me now is the fact that we haven't won the Premiership for three years. That drives me on like nothing else."
At 33, Giggs is aware he does not have many more seasons in front of him, and he is determined to make the most of his time left at the top level.
He added: "My current form is good because of a mixture of a lot of things. It's down to experience and the fact I can see the finishing line.
"It means I want to enjoy every game of every season. I want to get everything I can out of my football career and that is what I am trying to do now.
"I don't know when I will finish, but when I was 21, I thought the end would never come.
"Then when I got into my 30s I realised I had to enjoy it, appreciate everything that I was doing."
