Rafa Benitez insists he has no problems with the Liverpool board backing him in the transfer market.
After Liverpool's 6-3 defeat to Arsenal in the Carling Cup, Benitez suggested he required more money to make the club a competitive force.
The Spaniard's comments led to speculation that he is at odds with his employers and is unhappy at a perceived lack of financial clout.
But Benitez has moved to quell any rumours of unrest, insisting both he and the board are pulling in the right direction for Liverpool's future.
"I want to clarify that I don't have any problem with the board," said Benitez on Sky Sports News.
"I am really happy with them.
"They want the best for the club, I want the best for the club and we are trying to improve."
The Reds were booed off at half-time of the cup exit to Arsenal, with Benitez's side trailing 4-1 at that stage.
Benitez's team selection for the game was heavily criticised as an under-strength side failed to keep alive any realistic hopes of domestic silverware for this season.
The Anfield chief is aware of the discontent, but remains confident he is making the best decisions for the club.
He added: "As a manager you have to accept sometimes that you will receive criticism.
"I am here for making decisions, for taking decisions, and we will try to do our best every week."
