Burnley have signed Aston Villa midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba on loan until the end of the season.
The Cameroon international has not made an impact at Villa Park since joining the club from Manchester United two years ago.
Since Martin O'Neill took over as manager, Djemba-Djemba's solitary appearance was as a late substitute against Arsenal on the opening day of the season.
He will now spend the remainder of the campaign in the Championship and Burnley boss Steve Cotterill is happy with his new recruit.
"We have signed Eric on loan until the end of the season," Cotterill told the club's official website.
"He has not played a lot of football, but obviously on the back of Micah Hyde leaving we had to move to do something.
"Eric has good pedigree and we are hoping that once we get him fit he will be a good addition to the squad for the rest of the season.
"It shows something about the boy's character that he is prepared to drop down from the Premiership to play for Burnley."
Djemba-Djemba is in line to make his debut for Burnley in Saturday's Championship game against Southampton at St Mary's.
