Aston Villa have handed a trial to Norwegian starlet Lasse Staw.
The 19-year-old is currently back-up to former Arsenal shot-stopper Rami Shaaban at Fredrikstad.
Staw is a youth international and very highly rated in his homeland, and Fredrikstad want to prolong his contract.
However, Staw is not convinced that his long-term future is at Fredrikstad and he has accepted Villa's invitation of a trial.
"Aston Villa have invited me to trial for them," Staw revealed.
"I've known this for quite a while now, but I didn't know the date exactly.
"Aston Villa have not contacted me personally previously, but they've followed me over time and they have talked to my agent."
Martin O'Neill's backroom staff will assess Staw later this month, although they could face competition for his services as Tottenham are also believed to be taking an interest.
"Tottenham have been following me as well. They have had scouts watching me play and have had contact with my agent," Staw told ffksupporter.
