Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has admitted he is worried about his side's record against the big sides.
The Reds have a dismal record against the big three of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal in recent seasons and Arsenal ended their FA Cup dreams with a 3-1 win at Anfield last weekend.
Liverpool have the chance to gain revenge in Tuesday's rearranged Carling Cup quarter-final and Alonso knows they must get better results against their rivals if they are to be contenders for all the top prizes.
"We haven't managed to beat any of them in the major competitions this season and that's something which worries us," admitted Alonso.
"Against the big teams, we aren't performing or getting the results that we might have expected.
"In the Premiership, they all still have to come to Anfield - and we have to show we can get results against them.
"But the defeat to Arsenal on Saturday makes us more determined to beat them now. It is a good game for us.
"Obviously it's not normal to play in two different cups against the same team in the same week but we have a quick chance to make amends."
